Portal Feeder - Reviewing The Pros And Cons Of Being A Member … Part 1
First of all, let me just state up front before anything else, that I have been a member of Portal Feeder since it launched in December 2005. The current monthly membership fee for Portal Feeder is $297. Since I have been paying my monthly membership fee for two years now, it’s obvious that I see value in being a member, or I would have quit my subscription long ago.
And if I wasn’t generating demonstrable results in my online business using the tools, training and information provided by Portal Feeder and its active community of members, then my wife would have told me to dump Portal Feeder even sooner.
In other words, I am getting great results and benefits from my Portal Feeder membership, and so my review is going to be a “little” biased no matter what.
The fact is, I love Portal Feeder! I love the custom software and tools they provide to members that allows me to easily build, manage and monitor the performance of my many profitable sites, I love the “step-by-step” training they provide on all aspects of building a successful online business, complete with downloadable MP3 webinars, pdf documentation, training videos and more, and I love interacting with the Portal Feeder community in the Member’s Forum.
I’m not a technical guy, and I’m not a web-designer type of person either. The truth is, I just want to build automated online businesses that can take care of my family’s financial needs so I can have a life! This is why having access to a community like Portal Feeder is so important to me.
When I need to know how to do something technical (like how to edit CSS stylesheets, for example), I just go to the PF forum, post my question and before the day is over, I’ll have about half a dozen replies from people who have expertise in that area.
Another thing … I used to buy Internet Marketing products, then find out a week later, that Portal Feeder had just released an exclusive new tool for members at no additional cost, which performed the exact function I purchased the software for, only exceptionally better than whatever I had just spent $97 on (ouch!). I’ve now learned my lesson. Whenever a new and compelling Internet Marketing product comes out, I don’t buy it. Instead, I go to the PF forum and ask if anyone has bought it and can they please give me a no B.S. review on it. That’s how I find out if the product is worthless and all hyped up, or if it is truly worth the money. Often what does happen, however, is that one of the three Portal Feeder owners (Jason Potash, Jason Katzenback, or Marc Quarles) will pipe in on the discussion, and tell us not to buy the product, because they’re either in the process of developing a similar or better tool, or because they can get it for us as a special deal.
The people in the Portal Feeder community are truly “switched on”, and so we get some pretty amazing discussions happening in the forum over all aspects on building online businesses. From Web 2.0 strategies, to personal success stories with details on what members are doing to increase their profitability online. We even have a section in the forum where people can volunteer to try out other member’s theories and strategies, then the results get published for the collective benefit pf members. Just today, I signed up for a “social Bookmarking” experiment run by one of the members, who has found a\way to get new sites indexed “lightning fast” by the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN.
The one thing you should know about Portal Feeder, is that this is a “white hat” community. What this means, is that every tool and strategy used or promoted within the membership operates strictly within the rules and requirements of all the major search engines. In other words, nothing we do will get us banned or de-listed from the search engines. We work with Google, Yahoo, MSN and others to create long-term assets that will hopefully return an ongoing stream of income from our online businesses for a very long time to come.
This is a breath of fresh air, for me, as I originally started out doing “Black Hat” stuff, which is stuff designed to “trick” the search engines into treating your sites more “favourably” than all the other sites on the web who are competing for higher ranking in the search engine results pages (SERPs). This can become an expensive nightmare, as you end up working just as hard as someone who is doing “white hat” stuff, but what you do only lasts for a very short time before the search engines catch up with the “trickery” and all of your hard work vanishes into thin air, upon which time, you have to start all over again.
Portal Feeder changed all that. I now have a plan to build solid, quality sites on a steady basis that benefit visitors and I just work my plan.
For example, my first goal was to build a passive income of $27 a day from my sites. This amount covers all of my online business monthly operational expenses, which include hosting a dedicated server, domain name renewal fees, my Portal Feeder membership fee, and outsourcing the creation of all the unique content I use in my sites. I achieved this goal within 3 months of working my plan, with about 5 Portal Feeder-generated sites contributing the bulk of this income. Now I am going for the next level of earnings, which will enable my wife and I to pay off some of our credit card debt.
I’ll continue reviewing the pros and cons of being a Portal Feeder member on my next post …
